IJver — Restaurant Virtual Tour in Amsterdam

A 360 virtual tour for IJver in Amsterdam

Some venues have an atmosphere you simply have to be inside to understand — and a 360 virtual tour is the next best thing. In 2019, 360virtualtour.net produced a virtual tour for IJver, a restaurant in Amsterdam, and published it on Google Street View, so anyone who finds the venue on Google Maps can step straight in and look around.

IJver is also among the clients who kindly shared their experience of working with us — a project we look back on with pleasure, and one that shows what a well-loved neighbourhood venue gains from being open to visitors online.

Scope of the shoot

We photographed the restaurant as a connected series of panoramic scenes covering the guest's route: the entrance and bar, the main dining areas and the corners that give the room its character. The walkthrough follows the natural sightlines of the space, so an online visitor experiences the venue as a guest would — not as a set of disconnected wide shots.

Amsterdam hospitality interiors are a lighting puzzle: tall windows, shifting daylight and warm interior lamps sharing the same frame. We shot with HDR bracketing so the finished tour holds both ends of that range, and scheduled the session outside opening hours to leave the venue exactly as we found it.

What IJver received

  • A fully interactive 360 virtual tour of the restaurant, published online and ready to embed on the venue's website.
  • Publication on Google Street View, linked to the restaurant's Google Business Profile, so the tour appears in Google Maps and Search.
  • The complete tour files delivered to the client, plus lifetime hosting on our servers — one payment, no subscription.

Why Street View matters for a restaurant

For restaurants, the map listing is often the first impression. A profile that opens into a real walkthrough of the room stands out against competitors showing only a facade — and it reaches guests at the precise moment they are deciding where to go.

★★★★★

"The virtual tour really put our café on the map. Tourists find us on Google Maps, take the 360° tour and walk in an hour later — it has become our best marketing channel."
