Scope of the shoot

We photographed the venue as a connected series of panoramic scenes covering the celebration from the guest's perspective: the arrival and entrance, the main hall with its stage, table arrangements and dance floor, and the surrounding areas guests use through the evening. Camera positions were chosen to convey the real dimensions of the hall — the ceiling height, the width of the floor, the sightlines to the stage.

Grand venues mean grand lighting challenges: chandeliers and decorative lighting high above, darker floor areas below. We shot with HDR bracketing so the finished tour keeps the brilliance of the room without sacrificing the detail beneath it, and scheduled the session between events so the hall could be captured in its dressed, ready state.
